Tri-Valley Haven helps survivors of domestic and sexual violence, low income and homeless families celebrate the holidays by providing them with gifts and food. Our annual holiday program fosters independence and empowerment- families choose their own gifts, cook their own food, and develop their own holiday traditions. Haven programs assisted over 1,400 families with Holiday Food Assistance and over 1,000 families with Holiday Gifts in November and December 2008 and we anticipate the demand for these programs to grow in 2009!
During the month of November the Bay Area Buckeyes have challenged all bay area Buckeye and Michigan fans to collect grocery store gift cards and cash for our local food pantries. Bring your donations to game watches during the month of November and the team that has collected the most donations by the BIG GAME will win bragging rights for the year!
Wanted: Student Recruitment Chair

I'd like to find someone to serve as the Student Recruitment Chair for our club. A key role for this position is to work with the Recruitment Office at the University and the Recruitment Chair of the San Francisco club to help raise scholarship money, review applications, and award scholarships to local high school students attending Ohio State in the coming year. I assisted the San Francisco club interview students and award scholarships this past year. It is a very rewarding and fun experience, and it's something I think others in our club would enjoy being a part of. I'll be putting together a full list of duties for this position soon, but I wanted to give folks a heads up. One requirement for this position is that the person should be an alumni of the University. If you are interested, email me or see me at one of the game watches.
